Unit 10

Reflecting back to unit 3, I listed my physical being a 5, spiritual being a 7 and psychological being an 8.  Currently I’d rate physical as a 5 still, spiritual as an 8 and psychological as an 8.  Due to the cold weather, running the trails has been a little difficult so my fitness routine has been slacking.  I know that I need to continue exercising so joining a gym is my next step.  I believe I have increased in spirituality by donating and volunteering when possible at my job.  Psychologically, I would go back and re-rate myself as a 6 rather than an 8.  I believe I have greatly improved with staying positive and motivated since the beginning of this class.  Meditating truly helps relief my stress and helps me look at things in a most positive way.

My physical goal was to prepare for my first 5K.  Unfortunately I have yet to sign up or set a date.  I need to do this to make this goal a reality and to truly start my training.  Once my training begins I know the rest of my physical aspirations will fall in place.  Spiritually, I wanted to begin volunteering more and providing back to the community.  I have made small steps by giving back through the company I work for by donating and volunteering, however I want to make further strides by volunteering in a new atmosphere.  Psychologically I wanted to feel better about my job and have a most positive outlook.  I believe that meditation has really helped me see the positive aspects of my job and current career which makes going to work much easier compared to 6 weeks ago.  This class overall has been extremely inspiring.  Understanding how the mind, body, and soul is connected has been a mind opening experience.  The most rewarding part of this class is seeing and feeling the difference in integral health.  Focusing on more than just the physical body is so important to being whole and happy, it makes me sad that I wasn't taught this earlier in life!  I did not find this class to be difficult, but challenging in the sense of meditating and learning to control the mind.  This is something I will continue to practice and hope to get much better at.  After going through this class, I will be able to explain and demonstrate how connected our mind, body, and spirit are.

  1. You have set forth some really great aspirations! There are tons of body-weight and indoor activities that you can do to help with your physical goals. Another really good cardio activity to do is cycling it also works your whole body at the same time! Keep up the things you have set out to do; I have no doubt that you will succeed.
